I see a lot of different settings of a lineman's equipment after all the hard work. My husband is not just leaving his tools around the house ... he's giving me more subjects for still art.
Along with the Prints
I made 4" x 5" Notecards.
"2nd Florida - Seven Pines"
This a commissioned piece that was done for a customer that does Civil War reinactments. I enjoyed doing this work because it is part of history and our past. Although the original or prints of this drawing can't be purchased, the note card of this drawing are available.
"Ties That Bind"
Ties That Bind was inspired by my love of the Victorian era and my family ties to my childhood. The original piece took more than 30 hours to draw.
I used the colored pencil sepia to make the artwork have the feel of that time in the past. By using my friend's house for my reference pictures, I was able to bring back that moment in time. Ties That Bind was named as a reminder of my past experiences growing up in a traditional southern background at church. It was named after a favorite church hymn, Bless Be The Ties That Bind.
"Heavenly Sunlight"
Heavenly Sunlight is an old church hymn that I grew up singing with my mother playing the piano. The artwork, Heavenly Sunlight is of my Lavender Rose china collection. I took this picture at my dinning room window with the sun shinning through my lace curtains. I love how the light plays on the china. Although this piece is smaller than Ties That Binds, it took over 50 hours to complete.
5” x 4” Notecards
Ties That Bind and Heavenly Sunlight Note Cards come tied with twine in a package of 10
I also do portraits.
This is one I did for Thomas in Texas. I drew it from a photo of his girl friend, Carolyn when she was 17. He loves this new "heirloom."
